Air to Water Heat Pumps work on a similar principle to the domestic refrigerator. Heat from the atmosphere is extracted by an outdoor unit and is absorbed by a refrigerant solution which is then compressed to a high temperature. The heat generated is used by the indoor unit to create hot water for a traditional pressurised heating and hot water system.
Air to Water Heat Pumps are ideal for low-temperature underfloor heating systems or appropriately sized radiators. As well as providing your hot water, this system gives you a low cost solution throughout the year.
• Energy efficient – efficiency of up to 400%
• Provides hot tap water
• Will work with outside temperatures as low as -20°C
• Suitable for use with underfloor heating and/or appropriately sized radiators
• No major ground works required
